About
Basics
I’m Yayo and welcome to my personal public space. I’m a Unix researcher, a jr. systems architect inspired by original hackers at MIT and Bell Labs, FOSS and retro-computing enthusiastic, internee quantum researcher, mind researcher and professional thinker. I’m also a future quantum physicist / biologist, a former martial artist and I’m also a runner.
What do I do here?
It’s my personal workspace in public, I mostly write technical articles about Linux, programming and (soon) science. I do NOT use LLMs to write this since I trully believe creativity comes from a human mind, not a NLP model designed to replicate a human model. I also tend to write some mental notes in here, as you all can see. Some personal, deep, inspirational notes not to give up, to not be quitter and to trascend limits, with friends, relationships or maybe in solitude. I don’t get paid to write this and probably never will. This is a personal project I’ve been maintaining since December 2022 and has a very special place in my heart to me. I’m a major graduate, currently pursuing a PhD in Science and Quantum Physics / Biology. In the meantime, I do compile my own custom kernel on weekends and I read, write my journals and book’s notes handwritten (I prefer handwritten notes over .nb sheets but, I’m alright with both). I also like maintaining servers and .deb and .xbps packages.
I have a home-lab for simulations and my stuff (cloud, music server, SearXNG instance, etc..). I’m very grateful for those people who kindly gave me this hardware so I can test and deploy my own stuff. I also maintain and build my inner self-kid mentality, a curious mentality, where I can ask myself a lot of things without losing wonder. I love the uncertainty of this universe. I love this universe, I love nature, plants, trees, forests, grass and I’m a trully advocator of nature. I do believe that kind of “disappeared” these days (and years) cuz of the arise of social media and modern society with a lot of information / answers / rapid routines. Nature is still an important part in our lives (prob the most important thing though). I also love taking care of my most personal artefacts. I don’t like modern consumerism, I believe our stuff has a special place in us and not just be “replacable”
Despite the case whatsoever, I hope you all have a great time visiting my site and don’t doubt to reach me in my contact page
Hobbies
- I love science. I’m currently studying Quantum Mechanics and Mechanical Thermodynamics (and Genetical Engineering) to some way revert the well-said human deterioration. Also to know how to control my mind and my thoughts and actions and also, to be eternal
- I love BSDs, Linux and Unix-like operating systems. I do like ricing as well, so I mainly test distros on VMs. My fav distros are Debian and Arch
- I also love the history of Unix, PWB/UNIX, BSD, SunOS, etc… history of computing, mainframes, micros, minis…
- I love hardware as well. I love motherboards, logic gates, transitors.
- Like I said, I love science, physics (classical and quantum), thermodynamics, free energy, calculus, computer science and whatever that trascends limits
- I like chess
- I love ambiental and adventure games such as Myst and Riven, as well as Another World and Space Quest (see, I like retro games hehe)
- I like to listen to piano and reflective music for work.
- I like to challenge myself with new challenges
- I usually meditate and do journaling mostly everyday
- I do workout everyday. Like I said, I’m a runner
- I like to study for long periods of time without distractions
